Advisory & Support

PSG & EDG Grant Advisory in Singapore

Most grant advice in Singapore is vague about the part that decides everything: which scheme can fund whose work. PSG funds pre-approved products from listed vendors. EDG and MRA fund the project you actually want, and let you choose your own vendor. That distinction changes what you should apply for, and it is the first thing we tell you. We give you a straight read on what is realistically claimable, help you prepare a complete application, and align the build to what was approved. You submit the application yourself — Enterprise Singapore does not permit third parties to apply or manage a grant on a company's behalf, and any firm offering to do that for you is a warning sign.

Who it's for

For Singapore-registered SMEs planning a website, e-commerce, software or digital transformation project who want to know what they genuinely qualify for before committing budget — and for companies expanding into Malaysia or the region who have not yet looked at MRA.

What's included

Everything you get, handled by one team.

Which scheme actually fits

A straight read across PSG, EDG, MRA and SFEC against your entity, project and spend — including where a scheme cannot fund the work you have in mind, so you do not build a plan on a grant that was never available.

EDG project scoping

For larger transformation and custom software projects: framing the outcomes, deliverables and productivity case in the structure EDG assessors expect. EDG supports up to 50% and does not require a pre-approved vendor.

MRA market-entry scoping

For expansion into Malaysia or the region: scoping overseas promotion, business development and market set-up against MRA, which supports up to 70% capped at S$100,000 per new market and lets you choose your own vendor.

PSG pre-approved solution guidance

Where an off-the-shelf listed solution genuinely is the better buy, we will map you to the pre-approved category and say so — even though that route funds a listed vendor's product rather than our work.

Application preparation

Help preparing quotations, project write-ups and supporting documents, and walking you through the Business Grants Portal steps. You hold the account and press submit.

Delivery and claim alignment

Where we are the vendor on an approved project, scope, milestones, invoices and evidence stay consistent with what was applied for, so reimbursement is not held up at claim stage.

Why it pays off

Outcomes, not just deliverables.

Frequently asked questions

Can PSG fund a custom website or software built by GDI?

No, and be wary of anyone who implies otherwise. PSG funds pre-approved solutions from vendors on the official listing, so it pays for a listed vendor's product, not a custom build by a firm that is not listed. GDI is not a PSG pre-approved vendor. If an off-the-shelf listed solution genuinely suits you, we will point you to it. If you need something custom, EDG is the scheme to look at instead.

Which grant can fund custom software development in Singapore?

EDG. It supports up to 50% of qualifying project cost for SMEs and does not require the vendor to be pre-approved. Enterprise Singapore requires SAC-accredited TR 43 or SS 680 certification only for management consultants, and states that consultants providing technical expertise in developing new technology do not need it — so a software developer can deliver an EDG-funded project without accreditation. Approval always rests with Enterprise Singapore.

What is the timing rule that disqualifies grant applications?

You must apply and be approved before the project starts — and a project counts as started if you have begun work, made a payment, or signed a contract with your vendor. There are no retrospective claims. This is the single most common way SMEs lose funding they would otherwise have received: they sign with a supplier first and apply afterwards. Budget for the wait; EDG applications take roughly 8 to 12 weeks to process.

How much can MRA cover for expanding into Malaysia?

From 1 April 2026 MRA supports up to 70% of eligible third-party costs, capped at S$100,000 per company per new market, with sub-caps of S$20,000 for overseas market promotion, S$50,000 for business development and S$30,000 for market set-up. Your annual sales in that market must not have exceeded S$100,000 in any of the preceding three years, and there is no pre-approved vendor list — you choose your own vendor. MRA and EDG are expected to fold into EDGE in the second half of 2026.

Can you apply for the grant on my behalf?

No. Enterprise Singapore does not permit third-party companies to apply for or manage a grant on an applicant company's behalf. We help you prepare quotations, write-ups and supporting documents and walk you through the portal, but the application is submitted from your own account by your own people. Any consultant who offers to run it for you is describing something the rules do not allow.

Can you guarantee my grant will be approved?

No honest partner can. Approval rests entirely with the administering agency, and eligibility, support levels and caps change. What we can do is make sure you apply for the right scheme, scope it the way assessors expect, and submit a complete application — and tell you early if we think it will not qualify, rather than after you have paid for the paperwork.

Do I have to build with GDI to use your grant advisory?

No. The advisory is genuinely useful on its own, and sometimes the honest recommendation is a listed PSG product we do not supply. It does work better when the build and the application are aligned, because the scope, milestones and claim evidence then match — but that is a benefit, not a condition.
